Accomplishments for 2007-2008

Partnership Health Canterbury provides the funding to General Practice teams to subsidise the delivery of first level services to our enrolled population.

In the 2007/08 year, the General Practices delivered 1,110,763 general practitioner consultations, with 944,399 of these being for our enrolled population. Of these, 40,707 were for Maori enrolled in Partnership Health Canterbury, 12,964 were for enrolled Pacific people and 277,650 were for enrolled people aged over 65 years. These groups represent more than 35 percent of all consultations for enrolled people.

Since PHOs were established, subsidies for all age groups have been introduced so that now all enrolled people benefit from cheaper doctors’ visits and prescriptions.
