Appetite For Life Programme
Appetite for Life (AFL) was developed as a six-week programme for women motivated to make lifestyle changes to prevent weight gain, lose weight and/or develop healthy eating and physicalactivity habits.

It aims to provide women with the skills, knowledge and confidence to make positive, sustainable changes to their food choices and activity levels. The programme addresses physical activity, nutrition, and social and environmental influences on food choices.

Food tasting reinforces the theme for each session of the six-week programme. The women who participate in the programme recognise the need for unique approaches to successful weight management for each gender.

The programme is designed to be delivered in a primary healthcare setting by trained facilitators. AFL provides an effective option to meet
increased demand for nutrition education for patients in General Practices, and a focused professional development opportunities for healthcare professionals.

We currently have eight fully trained coaches and 74 trained nurses for the AFL programme.

"Appetite for Life is a fabulous programme. Over time, I opened up to change and through experimentation have incorporated many new things into my daily life."

"The best course I have ever been on! Really!"

"The whole course is great - easily, the most enjoyable and useful short course I have ever done."
