General practice is the first port of call for most people, so having a strong, thriving community of doctors, nurses and practice teams is vital. Partnership Health Canterbury helps practice teams by providing funding for a range of general practice extension services, as well as linking them to a broad range of other services.

To keep teams engaged with fresh thinking, we also fund education programmes across the general practice community. Some initiatives we fund, delivered by IPA partners, ease the administrative load on GPs and their teams, and remove the need for duplication and expensive infrastructure. Clinicians are able to focus on care delivery and the increasing demand for clinical leadership.
