Partnership Health Canterbury

Governance

Operating by consensus has meant Partnership Health Canterbury has had to put more work into canvassing trustees' views, working with key stakeholders, identifying and dealing with concerns, and modifying proposals as required prior to board meetings.

Partnership Health Canterbury - A Trust in consensus

Partnership Health Canterbury’s Trust Board makes all of its decisions by consensus. This means the board’s decisions have the support of all members and are made in the best interests of the communities and health professionals represented on the board.

In addition to providing overall governance and strategic advice to Partnership Health Canterbury, our trust board members each sit on a variety of sub-committees.  These are Health Promotion, Finance/Risk Audit, Services to Improve Access, and a Clinical Governance Group.

The Partnership Health Board operated independently of management, and provided informed oversight of the operation of Partnership Health…Financial and business systems were appropriate and provided for transparent management reporting and financial reporting to stakeholders.
